Echoes In The Dark
October 28, 2010
Still…is the earth in on a night like this
still is the night without any bliss.
still is the bliss without your kiss.
still is the kiss because you are gone.
still you are gone and I am on this earth alone.
so still is the earth
on a night like this
without any bliss
because I miss your kiss
but how can I kiss
you when you are gone.
and all that is left are my crazy mind’s echoes in the dark.

Excellent poetry.
i like the mood of it
I like the way you describe your mind going round in circles! Lovely.
u can be that sweet,
what a lovely love poem.
your wife must be smiling all over reading it,
Really liked the flow of this one. Excellent repetitions, really adds to overall piece.
If you had a close loved one that passed on from this earth,
you have my condolences. God bless your grief and sorrow.
It sounds personal. That’s all.
She would be proud of your work here.
Or…she is, and you got her to smile with this one.
Mom passed on the 9th of October. I had this thought because I have been kinda up and down and my wife was away while I was trying to sleep and I kept thinking repetitive thoughts that went something like this while I was lying there trying to clear my head and rest. Thank you UT.
I am so sorry for your loss…
Thank you Adeeyoyo you are a treasure.
I’m really sorry to hear that, Stuart. Since I am a very firm believer in the afterlife, I feel I can honestly say in all sincerity that your mother is truly awake and aware…right now, in this very moment, where Paradise crosses the line and intersects the spiritual road which is leading the whole of us toward those greater planes of being. Your mom resides in peace, and I pray that you yourself will soon come across this very same peace that surpasseth all understanding.
Perhaps, you already have felt the relief and comfort that comes with this unearthly knowledge. I hope so. Best wishes to you and yours on this oh-so Hallowed Sunday! Take care, be good, and stay safe, my friend.
I too feel that she is in a better place. I miss her and it doesn’t all hit me at once, but sometimes when I am left alone due to my schedule my brain works over time. Your descriptive eloquence brings a peaceful reminder to me as to what has happened since the harshness of her life’s end. Thank you dear friend.
May your family have the kind of memorable Halloween that I believe ours will have this night. It’s 8:00am and the kids are already wanting to put on their costumes. my five year old felt the need to wake us at 6:30 for the occasion. It should be a great day. Be safe.
Having read through the comments I now understand the origins of the poem. My sincerest condolences for your loss but congratulations at expressing such personal emotions at such a difficult time. I really don’t know how you managed to do that… I can only tip my hat and nod my head.
Love the repetition and rythym in this – an enjoyable read. bb
I reread it,
you miss
what bring you bliss,
what a twist…
sad, but hopefully, it is a fiction.

You must love the lady in the poem very much. Mom?
Very fine and perfectly matched to the photograph, which is lovely. Value added.
