Where the Forgotten Go…

November 7, 2010
go away

Few know where the forgotten go

They are suddenly simply not here

A careless thought…

A slip of the tongue

and poof! they suddenly disappear.

The fatal blow…

is when we look away.

That is when our forgettable memories stray.

and the forgotten never say…

good-bye or good day… why should they?

Our carelessness caused their dismay.

If ever seen again they’ll never say a word

Because they do not want to embarrass you

They would never do any thing that rude …

That would be remembered.

And Remembered …since he is so crude…

Always has a special space,

Because he sits on top of our mind.

But the forgotten go where we would guess.

The forgotten remain in their own space…

the space we shall call no place…

in our mind.

…and they are here for this reason

No place is the best place for us to leave them…

far behind.

    Hello dear Engineer,
I thought I had forgotten your name, I searched but no mention of name any where.
It is really nice wake up for me.
While treating patients, I focus only on disease and not on particulars of the person.
I remember people by their diseases.
    A very nice poem indeed.

I was sure I commented on this yesterday when I linked it on my Fb. I was so impressed with it. Anyway, if I did, it’s gone…

I like it so much because it’s true that people pass in and out of our lives and we are sometimes too preoccupied to notice for a while, and sometimes not at all. Sad…

I am sorry Adeeyoyo but I did not see any comments come through.
I hate the fact that I am a person that does this often. I get so wrapped up in what I’m doing that I have…Oh crap moments regularly.

Nowhere is here as sits with us
We never deviate from this, it is a must
There is no such place other than here
We choose this place so crystal clear
So look where you will always be
With open Consciousness and the will to see

    enjoy good buddy always(+)

Exactly Dom*…the forgotten are the things and people under our noses that we overlook so no where really is here!

hi stuart! i can relate to this especially with the verse- our carelessness cause their dismay. alot of times people do not seem to realise how imposing andcrude they are until people shun from them!

Good reflections beat no reflections, but sometimes our memories have a mind of their own.
When the past comes to mind, guilt follows close behind. I like what Dom said, too. I was actually going to say the same thing. Now + Here = Nowhere — This is it. I don’t have visions. They have me. Spiritual experiences can be unforgettable. I’ve had a few, so I think I know. 😉

Your intentions are very readable, Stuart. I see a couple of simple things I’d change if it were mine, but other than that, I know what you mean. You bring up a good point.

Just last night, I woke up with a dream fresh on my mind. An old high-school friend appeared to me. We stayed friends for 20 years, and then we had an irreparable falling out. I still believe it was all for the best. He had turned onto a dangerous road that I didn’t want to follow. He’d inherited half a million dollars, and though it was totally fun for awhile (for he was super-generous), he found out how easy money buys things, things that will only get you in trouble. A few ‘friends’ took advantage of him. He blew all his money and got divorced. I bailed him out of jail about 3 years ago, but didn’t stick around to see him. He died of an overdose a year later. Where did he go? In my memory banks, right here. Here IS somewhere! He’ll always be here with me, long as I live. God bless his soul!

I will agree with what you say some things need to be forgotten but I have had problems with the little things…. people that I’ve talked to and things that were worth remembering sometime get cast aside. Often it is embarrassing when someone told me something…. like a death just happening in their family and I inadvertently cast it aside and a few hours later I’m cracking jokes that would be funny it other instances except for this one. This is only an example of what happens but we all do it in our on ways (i.e names, numbers, events). And both of you are truly right when you say no place is right here….That was exactly what I meant.
May your friend rest in peace and fond memories. I am fortunate that you chose the correct path over the easy one due to the fact that you are a great friend and to that I give my thanks.
      (what was needing corrected?)

Do you really want to know?
I can message you on FB if you do.
And, of course, it wood only be my opinion.

        • November 10, 2010 1:07 am

Absolutely a friends opinion is one of the most valuable things we have and it is something that makes us aware of ourselves. It’s a way of getting to know our selves better…fire away! 🙂

Excellent image. It sets exactly the right atmosphere for the poem. The poem works for me. I like it very much.

Daniel*1977 from flicker gave me his permission to use it. I would not have worried because flicker members have consent to use these on blogs but I asked him because it seemed personal. I thought this picture was emotional in its simplicity and I am thankful for it. Thank you for your appreciation and visit Mr King!

You won’t need to convince me personally with heavy phrases and deep ideas, I’m able to read through what you are saying and what you need to accomplish within your writings. I don’t have to agree just about all the time, but all I can say is actually, this is just an incredible item.
