The Truth

Facts are facts …until they are blurred.

Lies are not always untrue, at least… so I’ve heard.

Stories are often more exciting than real life…

Yet, Sometimes the truth cuts like a knife.

and the lessons of school are not necessarily the rule.

If one can’t keep up with these trends…

then they wind up the fool.

Reading between the lines is not always necessary

but when it is…

some people just don’t get it.

Often many would sooner believe in a fairy…

than to see the truth …

unless it is to their benefit.

More often than not we all lie to ourselves

because the truth is not always pretty

and sometimes we laugh at the truth

because we know the reality of it is shared by all

even when we struggle to not to make it seem so…

the truth is the always seen by the heart…

even when it hurts

Perhaps that is why the truth is always the most sought after piece of reality that I will ever work to know…

even when understanding it may be devastatingly ugly at least I will always know where I stand when I know it.

Hmm.. quite something to ruminate upon, should we face the truth even though it may be unpleasant or stay in a fairy tale world where all is fine? Good questions raised here.

Thank you for your visit…these were the thoughts I had and where I ultimately made my mind up to settle. Ultimately I think we all will face similar thought on this subject in our lives…It is really a very personal topic to reflect on….makes me feel at peace releasing it from my mind! Peace be with you!

“even when we struggle to not to make it seem so…
the truth is the always seen by the heart…
even when it hurts” — this is sooo true!! You couldn’t have said it better than that!!

“Often many would sooner believe in a fairy…
than to see the truth …”

that tells me to see fairies everywhere! 😉

Good one, Stu! Well thought out.
We all wish to know where we stand
    because of relativity and,
    because of our relatives.

    The what is, IS.
I prefer knowing “the truth” . . . as shaded as it is by the lens of our past experience.

    Thanks for your post!

  11. March 10, 2011 1:57 am

You said a mouthful. The truth depends on viewpoint and is easy to twist, shade, slice, dice, change, change angles to see other viewpoints, etc. You nailed it in your poem.

Thank you for the visit Dan…its good to see you! and your right those view points are quite often not mine especially when it comes to politicians! LOL! of coarse truth and politicians seem to be oil and water from my view point. Take care!

  12. March 10, 2011 5:17 am

    Truely true.
    Truth is very complex phenomenon
Truth is often beyond our knowledge
    Truth is eternal
May not be perceived as required
What is eternal is truth but may not be vice versa.
